Alice Dreger

Alice Dreger is a writer, historian, activist, bioethicist, journalist, and now a publisher of a local news newspaper called the East Lansing Info. Some people have called Alice a professional pain in the ass because she's always working to find out what's true even if that means she pisses people off. Her best known book is Galileo’s Middle Finger: Heretics, Activists, and One Scholar’s Search for Justice, which argues that the pursuit of evidence is the most important ethical imperative of our time. The work Alice does is often aimed at getting past partisan politics, the result of which is is being attacked by partisans. Notably, she resigned her position at Northwestern's medical school after her dean censored her work and instituted a censorship committee for a faculty journal. Alice enjoys a good drink on occasion.
